CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NewDominion Bank, which opened in January, has nearly completed assembling its team of commercial bankers. Over the past few weeks, the bank has hired five experienced commercial lenders, giving the bank a total of six. The bank plans to hire two more in this initial phase of operations.

The five bankers hired are:

--Michael Carle, Senior Vice President, Residential Construction Lending.

--Michael Foster, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending, Lake Norman Region.

--Greg Greer, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending.

--Ellen Stahlsmith, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending.

--David Willingham, Vice President, Commercial Lending.

The sixth commercial banker, Jeff Covington, Senior Vice President, Commercial Lending, has been with NewDominion for several months.

"We're delighted to have attracted the kind of dedicated, seasoned managers who immediately give us one of the most experienced groups of loan officers in the area," said Bradley Thompson, President and Chief Executive Officer of NewDominion. "These hires are what we mean when we say this bank will invest in people instead of expensive branches."

Together, NewDominion's six commercial lenders average 21 years of banking experience, including 17 in the Carolinas. "When we first developed the idea for NewDominion, we knew a critical piece would be to hire a senior management team with local experience," said Benjie Guion, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of NewDominion. "This loan-officer team gives us the ability to provide the special service that small to mid-sized businesses are looking for in a bank."
